Ryan J. L. Fantuzzi graduated valedictorian from Stevenson High School in 2004. He went on to the University of Michigan where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2008. Mr. Fantuzzi’s undergraduate studies included work amending the state constitution, which gained him the prestigious title of one of U of M’s “Students of the Year" by the Michigan Daily alongside NFL top draft pick Jake Long and Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps. Upon graduation, he taught high school Algebra for two years in Ann Arbor.

Mr. Fantuzzi next attended law school at the American University in Washington D.C. from which he obtained a Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 2013. He passed the Virginia Bar Examination and was admitted to practice there in 2013. While in D.C., Mr. Fantuzzi worked on e-Discovery matters at the Environmental Protection Agency in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. He also worked on a variety of political causes, including matters regarding children’s rights with the non-profit organization First Star. From 2012 to 2014, he was a consultant for the American Civil Rights Union on matters of law and policy with a focus on voting rights and entitlement programs.

In 2014, Mr. Fantuzzi moved back to Michigan to join the law firm of Kirk, Huth, Lange & Badalamenti, PLC. He passed the Michigan Bar Examination and was admitted to practice the same year. As an associate at KHLB, Mr. Fantuzzi specializes in municipal law and state/federal litigation with a focus on contract and business disputes. He has also been published in the Labor and Employment Lawnotes (Volume 25, No. 2). He is presently a member of the American Bar Association, the Macomb County Bar Association and actively supports the Macomb County’s Young Lawyers Section and Women’s Lawyers Association.

He treasures calling Michigan home and enjoys spending time with his family. In his spare time, he writes fiction with a creative writing group and enjoys weight-lifting
